November 2009

Another outdoor season has come and gone. The Sedan class made an early showing but quickly died out. Nitro monster trucks were back again, as loud and impossing as ever, electric monster trucks joined the nitros this year. There was way too many rain outs this summer, but that is now going to be a thing of the past. Just when we were ready to go inside for the indoor season we ran into building issues. With that said it was probabley a good thing because we now have a new track location at 337 Bath road. Alot of work went into getting this place race ready and I would like to say thank you very much for the time put in by all that participated. We now have a track with 3000 sq ft of racing surface that we will be able to stay in as long as we want. It looks like the snack shack will be up and running again this year with people giving their time to run it.

A new class has started inside this year, the 1/16 scale vehicles from Traxxas, the E-revo and Slash. These are a pretty fast and durable vehicle that looks like a lot of fun. Rally, Mini, Stadium truck and Sedan classes are all back as well.

December 2008

December 16 marks the start of the second series. Sedan, Mini and Rally are going strong with A and B heats each night. 1/12 scale made its first showing for this indoor season, hopefully we can get some more people to bring out there 1/12 scale. Team Losi wins the first Sedan constructors championship. Losi, Tamiya and Team Associated are all well represented this series so it should be an interesting constructors championship. Last month Rick Schock organized our first ever Mini endurance race. There were 5 teams that showed and a good time was had by all. Rick is planning more endurance races for the future.

October 2008

We are back inside at the Power Play Centre for another season of indoor racing. We lost a little bit of the track area this year due to other events going on at Power play center. We still have a good size track though. We are still waiting for the 1/12 scale class to show up this year. This was a pretty popular class last year. Mini is back and strong this year with an A and a B heat each night. Also this year there is a constructors championship going on in the Sedan class. Top 2 finishers from each manufacturer are awarded the same points towards constructors as they got in their race. The battle right now is between Losi and Tamiya. There is only one Team Associated running right now, so as soon as another one is running we will be scoring that manufacturer as well.

Again this year Ed Fletcher has volunteered to run the canteen. He is selling chips, bars and drinks. Ed also gets pizza in from Tata's and sells it by the slice. Many thanks to Ed and all the people that help out in the canteen.
